Advocacy for children's rights

A strong message for child protection

Village Pilote lobbies for children’s rights around the world. We are involved in empowering people, raising awareness of the dangers of irregular migration and promoting solidarity.

These actions are being carried out in several geographical areas: West Africa, Europe and the United States.

Plaidoyer

Defending the rights of children and their families

Every child has fundamental rights to care, education, justice and social protection. We make defending children’s rights our priority.

  • workshops and talks at public events, schools and businesses
  • raising awareness directly with the Daaras (Koranic schools) to ensure that their methods respect these rights and to denounce forced begging
  • alert messages in the media and to decision-makers

Promoting a commitment to solidarity

Village Pilote encourages community involvement through :

  • young people carrying out community projects
welcoming volunteers, civic services and international solidarity volunteers to its teams and sending young Village Pilote volunteers to work with French associations
  • organising solidarity trips to the Lac Rose Pilot Village
  • the organisation of Solidarity Caravans in Europe and Senegal, punctuated by numerous solidarity events and actions

Raising awareness of the dangers of irregular migration

In consortium with other local associations, Village Pilote runs programmes to raise awareness of the many dangers of irregular migration.

Many of the young people cared for at the Lac Rose Welcome Centre have themselves had to face these dangers on the migration routes.
